FAQ

Do I pay extra for a battery back up?

No! ALL Mega Motion power reclining lift chairs come with a battery backup system. All Mega Motion’s “Elite” series chairs come standard with a deluxe lithium battery power pack which will provide sufficient power to recline and lift the chair multiple times during a power outage. The remaining Mega Motion chairs come with a battery backup and a power adapter that will house one (1) 9-volt battery. We recommend a lithium 9-volt battery. This system will provide enough power to recline and lift the chair once or twice during a power outage. Always keep the chair plugged into the wall. All battery backups are meant for emergency use and not intended to be the primary power source for the chair.

What does being an FDA Class II Medical Device actually mean?

The FDA has identified three (3) main classes of medical devices: FDA Class I, II, and III. The higher the number, the more risk is involved and the more stringent the regulatory controls are by the FDA. That’s why Mega Motion must do 3x normal testing than other motion furniture suppliers. Testing includes seam and yarn strength, fabric toxicity, frame, motor, and mechanism longevity. Additional Benefit: The electronics on Mega Motion recliners are EMC tested! They do not interfere with hearing aids, insulin pumps or pacemakers. What differentiates Mega Motion power lift recliners is that they all are FDA Class II Medical Devices designed to aid individuals with mobility impairments.

Are any of your power reclining lift chairs water repellent?

YES! We offer a fabric called MegaGuard®. MegaGuard® has a Moisture Barrier Backing – No liquid can penetrate the fabric into the motor. MegaGuard® also has a water-based technology topcoat, and with its liquid repellency it is easy to clean. This technology comes standard on the MM-3712, MM-3710, and MM-3620. It is an upgrade on the MM-1652 and the MM-7001. This technology is exclusive to Mega Motion.

What is the difference between a three-position and infinite-position recliner?

Mega Motion chairs are available in both three-position and infinite-position.

Three-position chairs recline backward while the ottoman rises. Using the power hand control, the chair can be stopped at any position and reclines further back than that of a standard recliner.

The infinite-position chairs are where the chaise and the back work independently of each other. The consumer can choose their own personal preference on the chaise and recline position. The recline will reach a lay flat position on all infinite-position models, while some allow for zero gravity and Trendelenburg positions. These two positions aim to improve circulation and comfort by elevating the legs above the heart.
